HDFC Bank Services Restored After Hours Of An Outage


HDFC bank's services were restored on Sunday after hours of an outage affecting online payments and ATM transactions of customers. However, the bank has noted that customers may still face intermittent issues as the system stabilises.

"The services impacted following the outage have been restored. While you may face intermittent issues as the system stabilizes there is no reason to worry now! Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused. Thank you for bearing with us during this period," HDFC's customer care page posted on Twitter.The bank's services were out Saturday evening and HDFC acknowledged it on Saturday night saying that the bank's services had been impacted due to an outage at a data centre. However, HDFC bank did not state the cause of the data center's downfall. According to Down Detector, complaints first started coming in at around 6 PM on Saturday evening and peaked around 8PM.
HDFC customers faced issues making Unified Payments Interface(UPI) and card transactions since Saturday evening and expressed their woes on social media.

Some customers complained that services including credit card, debit card, online Banking, and the ATM were not working. They also complained that linked accounts on services like Swiggy, Google Pay, and Paytm were disabled. Affected customers also complained about the bank website and HDFC app on Twitter. Some people were not able to receive One Time passwords (OTP)s.
