Schools Reopen After 9 Months Due To Covid-19

After a long gap of 9 months, Odisha schools have reopened, Drinking water and toilets have been set up for students, the entire school has been sanitized according to Covid protocols. Seating arrangements have been made to maintain social distancing. The students are being screened thermally and released. Only 10th and 12th grade children have been asked to attend school.

One section will be alloted for 20-25 students. More sections will be created for more children. The syllabus has been reduced by 30 percent to relieve stress. Lessons will be held from today until April 28.

Nodal officers have been appointed in each district to work in coordination with the district commissioner and the district education officer (DEO). The DEO has been instructed to fill in if an extra teacher is required.

Similarly, hostels are reopening for 10th and 12th children. Children can stay in the hostel with parental permission. Children who do not have access to online education will be given priority.
