Maharashtra Crisis: CM Uddhav Vacates Official Residence

Mumbai: This was expected, the Shiv Sena game over, while addressing the people of the state Uddhav expressed his readiness to tender his resignation not just as the Chief Minister but also as the Sena chief. Hours after meeting with NCP chief Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray vacated his official residence, the Varsha Bungalow in Mumbai and headed toward his family house Matoshree.

‘But first, I want to have a clear conversation. I appeal to all rebels-  come and let’s talk or call me, but tell me that you want me to resign,’ Uddhav Thackeray said.

Uddhav left his official residence amid chants ‘Uddhav tum aage badho, hum tumhare saath hain’ (Uddhav, you go ahead, we are with you). Maharashtra minister Aaditya Thackeray along with his mother Rashmi Thackeray and brother Tejas Thackeray also left Varsha along with the chief minister.

It is learned, Four more Shiv Sena MLAs, including Gulabrao Patil and Yogesh Kadam, reached the hotel in Guwahati where the party’s rebel camp led by Eknath Shinde is holding up.

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has said that party chief Uddhav Thackeray will not resign as the chief minister of Maharashtra.

 

Eknath Shinde tweeted, ‘In the last two and a half years, the MVA government benefited only the constituent parties (Congress, NCP), and the Shiv Sainiks were overwhelmed. He added, “It is essential to get out of the unnatural alliance for the survival of the party and Shiv Sainiks. Decisions need to be taken now in the interest of Maharashtra.’
