Naveen dedicates 34 wayside amenity centres to public

Bhubaneswar: In order to provide improved facilities to tourists during their journeys, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated 34 wayside amenity centres through video conferencing from the state Secretariat here today.
The state government has set up 50 wayside amenities centres along the National Highways (NHs) and State Highways (SHs) across the state of which 34 have been thrown open for public today. While the centres at Jatamundei Chhak in Cuttack, Duburi-Kalinganagar in Jajpur, Odagaon in Nayagarh, Dhama in Sambalpur and Kapilash in Dhenkanal were inaugurated by the CM through video conferencing, the remaining centres were inaugurated by local MLAs, MPs and ministers.
Tourists can now take a break, eat and spend some quality time during their transit journeys. The amenity centre will have facilities like food, drinking water, rest room, toilet and parking facilities for travelers.
Each amenity centre has been constructed at a cost of Rs 1.10 crore. Trauma care and vehicle repair units and other facilities will be added to the fold in coming days.
Transport & Commerce Minister Nrusingha Sahu and Tourism & Culture Minister Ashok Panda, among others were present during the inaugural occasion at the State Secretariat.
